Why Do I Teach Sewing?

I love teaching people to sew, I’m a bargain hunter, design lover, incurable DIY-er, mother of one and grandmother of one!

I learn to sew at a very young age and it is a skill I love to share with others.

I live in beautiful Cornwall with my partner, a dog and 2 cats! Life could never be called boring!

Why I do what I do!

Lots of reasons! To bring women together — women talk while they sew —groups become friends.

Women support and listen to each other, and learn while sewing. It is therapeutic, and a hobby you can share at any age.

Creating a support network to help each other, so no one will feel lonely, or feel that no one listens to them. We can laugh at our mistakes – learn from them. Pass on the knowledge to our children and grandchildren.

It’s a life skill you know! It truly makes us appreciate the work that goes into making good clothes that last, AND having things that fit properly!

Being able to look around your home and say, “I made those cushions/curtains/soft furnishings.”

I am contributing to the environment by refashioning/upcycling fabrics.
